James Harden tweet lands Daryl Morey a fine due to anti-tampering rule


The NBA fined Philadelphia 76ers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey $50,000 for violating the league’s anti-tampering rule following a now-deleted tweet by Morey about Houston’s James Harden.

The tweet was despatched partially by a third-party app that commemorates anniversary tweets, and on Dec. 20, 2019, Morey – then accountable for basketball operations for the Houston Rockets – tweeted a graphic celebrating Harden passing Calvin Murphy on the Rockets’ all-time help checklist.

The tweet made final week mentioned, “#onthisday, 1 12 months(s) in the past – Twitter recollections through onthisday.me” accompanied by the tweet from 2019.

Harden needs a commerce from Houston with Philadelphia talked about as a possible touchdown spot for the All-NBA star.

The league has taken stronger motion relating to tampering over the previous 18 months.
