San Diego man charged with money laundering

EDWARDSVILLE — A San Diego man was charged with two counts of cash laundering after being discovered with greater than $90,000 in money.

Yilkal B. Assefa, 36, of San Diego, California, was charged April 19 with two counts of cash laundering, each Class 2 felonies.

The case was offered by the Metropolitan Enforcement Group of Southwestern Illinois.
